Travel Gifts: Souvenirs for the Place They Already Miss
The best souvenir is usually bought after the trip rather than during it. By then you know which part actually stayed with you — the bridge, the waterfall, the one street you kept walking down — and you are not choosing under fluorescent light in an airport with forty minutes to spare.
Five places, drawn one at a time. St. Augustine has the most of it: the Bridge of Lions, the lighthouse, the tree tunnel, the Old Jail, the sea turtles off the beach. Paris is next — the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, a Notre Dame gargoyle, and a red Citroën parked where it has no business being. Then Skógafoss in Iceland, a Venetian gondola, and the Tuscan countryside.
Every design is original, drawn for this shop rather than licensed from a stock library, and printed to order in the USA on shirts, ceramic mugs and canvas tote bags.
Who it’s for
Someone who just got back
The trip is still the thing they bring up. A mug is the version of it they hold every morning; a tote is the one that goes to the grocery store and gets asked about. Both outlast the photos in the camera roll.
Someone who has been going for years
St. Augustine especially has repeat visitors who are past the attractions. For them the Bridge of Lions and the lighthouse are landmarks rather than sights, and a shirt that treats them that way reads correctly.
Someone who has the trip booked
A tote or a tee before departure works as anticipation, and the tote earns its keep as the bag they actually carry. This is the one case where buying the souvenir first makes sense.

Vintage Venice Italy Gondola Shirt, La Serenissima Travel TeeShop on Etsy →The places these come from
St. Augustine, Florida. The oldest continuously occupied European-founded settlement in the continental United States, and the place we live, which is why it has the deepest run of designs. The Bridge of Lions and its marble lions, the black-and-white lighthouse, the oak tree tunnel on the way into town, the Old Jail, and the sea turtles that nest on the beach a few miles south.
Paris. The Eiffel Tower appears more than once because it works differently in a minimalist line drawing than it does on a mug. Alongside it: the Arc de Triomphe, a Notre Dame gargoyle looking out over the roofline, and the red Citroën, which is the only design here built around a joke.
Iceland, Venice and Tuscany. Skógafoss gets a shirt and a mug — it is the waterfall you can walk right up to until the spray decides for you. Venice is the gondola and the name La Serenissima. Tuscany is the countryside rather than a single monument.
Choosing between them
Shirts. The largest group, in standard US unisex sizing, which sits closer to a men’s cut than a fitted one. Size up when you are guessing for someone else.
Mugs. The safest gift in the collection — no sizing, no guesswork, and it is the item that gets used every day rather than folded away.
Tote bags. Canvas, and the most useful of the three if the person is actually travelling. Four of the St. Augustine designs and the Paris Citroën are on totes.
Questions worth answering before you order
Can I return it if the size is wrong?
Honestly: no, not for sizing — each item is printed for that order. Check the size chart on the listing, and size up when buying for someone else.
How long does it take?
Everything is printed after the order comes in, so allow production time on top of shipping. Order earlier than feels necessary if it is for a specific date.
Are these places you have actually been?
Yes — every destination here has a guide on the blog behind it, written from the trip. The designs came out of the same visits.
Will you add other destinations?
The collection grows as the blog does. Iceland and Venice have far more written about them than they currently have designs, which is usually a sign of what is coming.
